I'm Cured

It's been a long, exhausting ordeal and I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me and wished me well.
I went for my 6-month post-treatment check, and there's no sign of the virus.
I'm completely releived and my husband is completely releived. We celebrated quietly with coffe and cake at a little cafe close to the hospital and then went home to start our new life.
Rather than feel excited and jump up and down, I just feel like sitting quietly and being grateful for what I have.

Thanks so much for sharing your success, and for publishing this, and hence raising awareness for those that need to hear.

1.8 percent of Americans are infected with the hepatitis C virus, but the majority do not know. Hepatitis C is the leading cause of liver cancer in the U.S., but for most people, they are never diagnosed, and never have the opportunity for treatment.

Thanks!

I am so pleased that you are clear and feeling well. I, however, was wondering if you continue to experience "lingering" side effects from the treatment? It appears that there is a remarkable percentage (50ish %) that do. As a "brother" in arms I am always grateful to hear the success stories!!!!

Hi,
It's been six months since you last left a post. I hope you're still clear. It's my boyfriend's last day on the rib/inter combo six month treatment today. He's having his viral load test today, and will get the results next week. We're both anxious & have our fingers crossed in the hope that he'll be clear. Congratulations on your defeat.
